From the web: Biography Ira William Hanks was born on 5 Jan 1847, in Grand Valley, Pennsylvania.1 He was a farmer.2 He married Martha Ann Culbertson on Tuesday, 24 Dec 1872.2 C 1886 in Pennsylvania Ira married a 'Merry Widow'. They were divorced in 1888.2 Ira William Hanks married Sarah Culbertson in 1891.2 Sarah is the half-sister to Martha Ann, Ira's first wife.2 Ira William Hanks died on 21 Apr 1901 in Wessington, South Dakota, at age 54.1,2 The cause of his death was burned to death in a prairie fire.2 He was buried in South of Wessington Springs, South Dakota.2
